Dutch invest mainly in Turkish tourism sector and Luxembourg in Transport.

According to a report issued by the Ministry of Economy, the Netherlands ranks first in total of the foreign direct investment made in Turkey. In terms of foreign-owned companies in Turkey, the Dutch, who rank third after German and British investors, invest more in the real estate, construction and tourism sectors.

The reports also draw attention to the following;

- Large Dutch companies prefer to either undertake new commercial projects or buy local firms and real estate. Many small Dutch companies specialized in construction and marketing areas are active in residential projects in the holiday resort regions.

- Tourism and catering companies chose to invest in touristic areas mostly, like those operating in the real estate and construction sectors. Dutch-based firms working in these two sectors are usually located in Antalya, Aydın and Muğla.

On the other hand, in the report issues by the Ministry attention was drawn to the findings covered by the Turkey Action Plan and following statements was included; “The Turkish market is very important for Dutch business circles, but the prevailing impression is that Turkish companies need to improve the images towards the Dutch companies, which is preventing trade and investments from increasing at a desired level.
