Dutch invest mainly in Turkish tourism sector and Luxembourg in Transport.
to a report issued by the Ministry of Economy, the Netherlands ranks first in
total of the foreign direct investment made in Turkey. In terms of
foreign-owned companies in Turkey, the Dutch, who rank third after German and
British investors, invest more in the real estate, construction and tourism
also draw attention to the following;
Dutch companies prefer to either undertake new commercial projects or buy local
firms and real estate. Many small Dutch companies specialized in construction
and marketing areas are active in residential projects in the holiday resort
and catering companies chose to invest in touristic areas mostly, like those
operating in the real estate and construction sectors. Dutch-based firms
working in these two sectors are usually located in Antalya, Aydın and Muğla.
other hand, in the report issues by the Ministry attention was drawn to the
findings covered by the Turkey Action Plan and following statements was included; “The Turkish market is very important for Dutch business circles, but
the prevailing impression is that Turkish companies need to improve the images towards the Dutch companies, which is preventing trade and investments from increasing
at a desired level. "
